For Mommies, By Mommies. A place where moms can be there for other mommies and soon-to-be mommies. The plan is to share...everything. Tips, advice, anecdotes, stories. The blogs themselves are only half the fun, we want to use the comments as content as well.

Had a wonderful pregancy with my first. Only aches was (don't know how to spell it) my butt muscles. They would literally cripple me until it subsided. We recorded the labor (not all of it-bits and pieces) and at the end, when there cleaning my sweet boy, my Mom asks me "How do you feel?" And I say with (after 24 hours of labor) a smile "that was easy" Oh the aunties and mommies had some comments to say after that LOL.

Anyway, I wanted to wait until Gabriel was 3 to have my second because some of the same reasons. Changing diapers, taking the attention away from him, etc. Second pregancy-not good. And he was colic for 3 months. But now, we have a schedule we stick to for both and though it's challenging and lots of work, all the benefits and joy balance everything out.

But let me say, that I've grown to appreciate single moms (like my sister and cousin) so much more, with having the support of a partner. We are sure made of strong stuff indeed. Even now, though my husband helps, honestly, I do most of the work with the kids, housework, making decisions (grrr) etc. He's lucky he shows me his appreciation :)

You hit on the nail sister. I always say when my first was born, the minute he was out and they laid him on my chest, literally like the viewfinder I played with as a child, the world looked completely different and I felt the shift.

Nothing can prepare you for the strength of that love. Not only from being a mother, but the amazing changes you experience with the relationship with your husband and the support and love from your family.

Quick story, every morning at 6:00am, my hubby takes both our kids to the sitter before work. I rise at 7am and everyday I go into their rooms and make sure he didn't forget one. LOL! It's not that I think he would forget, it's just my built-in maternal force field. Also it's because I know I'm going to work and not going to see them until 6:30.

My ultimate fear (and I have nightmares actually) is something really bad happening to them-out of my control. Honestly because I think, how can I possibly be this happy and blessed. Nothing's perfect but how can life (when other people suffer) be so good-It's like I'm waiting for the ball to drop. I need to redirect those thoughts and energy.

I felt the same, I really wanted to choose a name you don't hear often. So my first is Gabriel. And to make a long story short on my second child-I wanted to name him Julian but when he was born-my husband changed his mind. Then Gabriel (did I mention he's only three) wanted to name him Jacob. We actually liked it and then it wasn't until recently that I found out Jacob is #1! Go figure.
